United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples:
This module traces the origins and creation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. We will also discuss the international Indigenous movement that led to the drafting of the document and how Canada lags behind other countries in its implementation.

The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) is marking it's tenth anniversary this year. Ahead of its anniversary on 13 September, UN DESA’s Division of Social Policy and Development (DSPD) gathered experts for a three-day meeting on 25-27 January 2017 to discuss achievements made and challenges that remain in realizing the UN Declaration at the global, regional and national levels.
